West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the performance of Rickie Lambert against Stoke City away from home on Saturday afternoon.
The former Liverpool striker did not start the Premier League encounter at the Britannia Stadium and came on as a substitute in the 35th minute.
Lambert replaced Claudio Yacob after Stoke had gone down to nine men following the dismissals of Ibrahim Afellay and Charlie Adam in quick succession.
The 33-year-old former Southampton striker, who joined West Brom from Premier League rivals Liverpool last month, was instrumental in Tony Pulis’s side's victory.
It was the England international’s cross on the stroke of half time which was headed home by fellow summer signing Salomon Rondon.
The 25-year-old Venezuela international striker’s goal proved to be the difference between the two teams at the Britannia Stadium, as West Brom won 1-0 against Stoke.
Following the match, West Brom fans took to Twitter to have their say on the performance of Lambert.
Below are some of the best comments:
Lambert cross for goal was superb. Great finish too. Can't believe some fans think Ideye and Rondon are the same quality. #wba— Adam Heal (@heal1979) August 29, 2015
All slate Lambert but he was the only one who put in a decent ball the whole game, the one we scored from #wba— OwenBurborough (@OwenBurborough1) August 29, 2015
Pulis did bring on Lambert after 35mins today in a bid to get the points. And it worked. Let's remember that. #wba— Happy Baggie (@amsriverkid) August 29, 2015
