Report: Nikica Jelavic made available before deadline, Bilic considers West Ham reunion

Nikica Jelavic

West Ham could make a move for Nikica Jelavic, according to reports.

According to The Telegraph, Hull City have told striker Nikica Jelavic that he can leave the KC Stadium - and West Ham United are considering a move to sign him.

The Hammers are in desperate need of a new striker, with manager Slaven Bilic left with few attacking options due to injuries to Andy Carroll, Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate.

With just days of the transfer window left to go, West Ham need to move quickly to sign a new striker - and they may hae been given encouragement over one.

The Telegraph report that Hull City have made Nikica Jelavic available for transfer, and that West Ham are heavily weighing up a move to sign him.

The 30-year-old, formerly of Rangers and Everton, hit eight Premier League goals for Hull last season, but their relegation means that his wages are a problem for the Tigers.

Jelavic worked with Hammers boss Bilic during their time together in the Croatian national team setup, meaning they are certainly familiar with what each other can do.

A veteran forward with the ability to lead the line, Jelavic could be a low-cost option for the Hammers, and whilst fans may have had bigger ideas in mind than signing Jelavic, he could certainly fill a role under Bilic, who could now look to complete a reunion with his former international striker in the coming days.
