Report: Everton meet release clause for Sevilla striker Juan Munoz

The 19-year-old looks set to be heading to Everton this summer.

Everton are all set to make a move for Sevilla striker Juan Munoz, according to reports in Spain.

It is reported by Mucho Deporte that Everton have made a bid of €3 million (£2.2 million) accepted by the Spanish club, as it meets his release clause.

The Spanish under-19 international has only played twice in the Sevilla first-team and has not been assured of future first-team football at the Sanchez Pizjuan and attempts to get him to sign a new deal have proved fruitless.

Everton have therefore swooped on the teenager and are hopeful of completing a deal before the Tuesday deadline.

Munoz is clearly a talented player and Everton will be pleased if they can complete this deal.

Everton certainly need some new striking talent. The Spanish youngster will definitely help that department in terms of numbers, with just Romelu Lukaku, Arouna Kone and bit-parters Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas in the ranks.

However most Everton fans would have liked to see a more established talent come into the first-team.

Munoz is likely to start from the development team before getting any first-team action at the club, but the hope will be he can progress into a future star.
