Manchester United, West Brom fans react on Twitter to Jonny Evans transfer

Jonny Evans has left Manchester United for West Bromwich Albion.

West Bromwich Albion confirmed on their official website on Saturday evening that they have completed the signing of Manchester United defender Jonny Evans.

Evans, 27, had fallen out of favour at Old Trafford, with manager Louis van Gaal preferring the likes of Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones over the last year.

The Northern Ireland international has now chosen to leave United on a permanent basis, joining Premier League rivals West Brom on a four-year contract.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis has already snapped up James Chester from Hull City in a bid to strengthen his defence, but he has taken further steps to make West Brom even more solid by signing Evans.

After West Brom confirmed the deal on Saturday evening, fans of both Manchester United and the Baggies took to Twitter in order to discuss the deal.

United fans largely thanked Evans for his commitment to the cause when called upon, even when he wasn't a first choice option at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, West Brom fans were happy with the deal, but the move caused them to ponder the future of centre back Joleon Lescott, who may be pushed out of The Hawthorns upon Evans' arrival.

Here are the reactions from United and West Brom fans after Evans completed his move to the Baggies this weekend...
