If you can't handle the heat, just delete your social media accounts.
Last season, Lovren looked a bit out of his depth and this season hasn't exactly gone well for him, especially after yesterday's howler against West Ham.
The Croatian centre-back had an absolute nightmare, gifting West Ham's second goal after a few bumbling stepovers and turns before falling flat on his face.
Now, it's not like football fans to have a dig at someone when they play bad... oh wait that' the exact opposite of what people do. In fact, the abuse Lovren received was enough for the 26-year-old to take drastic measures...
He deleted his Instagram account!
Disgusting Lovren has had to deactivate his Instagram account because of death threats, Disgusting what fans do that pic.twitter.com/RSHU8314ei— Anfield Kopites (@LiverpoolKop960) August 29, 2015
Clearly all the numbers Lovren had wasn't worth the waves of abuse he was bombarded with in wake of Liverpool's 3-0 defeat at Anfield against West Ham.
Now, while some where pretty nice about Lovren, some Liverpool fans got right stuck into the defender:
Rumours defender Dejan Lovren has deleted his Instagram have proven false. Apparently he tried to clear it....but missed! #saintsfc— Ben Stanfield (@BenStanners) August 30, 2015
Lovren deactivated his Instagram after all the abuse yesterday. You can criticize as much as you want, but abuse is unacceptable.— The Anfield Talk (@TheAnfieldTalk) August 30, 2015
Just checked and seen that Lovren has deactivated his account on instagram, bet he still has the match on his mind. I feel sorry for him now— LfcFan (@hadiyaapopstar) August 29, 2015
We're gonna miss Lovren on Instagram, mainly just for gold like this...
Poor Dejan Lovren, all of this just 24 hours after Brendan Rodgers claimed that he had managed to bounce back – however we doubt the Croatian will go all Alan Partridge and have the last laugh...
