Disgruntled Liverpool fans react on Twitter as Lazar Markovic joins Fenerbache on loan

Liverpool’s Lazar Markovic has joined Fenerbache on loan.

As confirmed by the club’s official website, Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic has joined Turkish giants Fenerbache on a season-long loan deal.

The 21-year-old joined the Reds only 12 months ago, arriving from Portuguese champions Benfica following a trophy-laded season at the Estadio da Luz.

Markovic’s arrival was met with excitement on Merseyside, considering how highly-rated he was at Benfica and his undeniable potential to be an extremely good player.

However, he struggled to adapt to the rigors of Premier League football and he endured a tough time, topped off by his dismissal during the club’s key Champions League clash at home to Basel.

Markovic ended the campaign making a total of just 11 Premier League starts, and the club’s ensuing transfer activity in the summer led to plenty of speculation over his future.

The Serbia international still has plenty of time on his side, and in order to aid his development with first-team football, a loan switch has be deemed the best course of action.

As confirmed by the club’s official website, Markovic will spend the entire 2015/16 campaign with Fenerbache where he will also be available to feature in the Europa League.

It’s a good opportunity for the player to star in a competitive league while also regaining his confidence as Fenerbache are widely tipped to challenge Galatasary for the Super Lig title.

Upon hearing the confirmation, a number of Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to have their say:
