Derby eye shock move for Wednesday's Nuhiu

HITC Sport understands Derby County are eyeing a surprise move for Sheffield Wednesday striker Atdhe Nuhiu.

Sheffield Wednesday forward Atdhe Nuhiu has emerged as a target for Championship rivals Derby County, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Derby have yet to record a win so far this season and Paul Clement is looking at entering the transfer market before Tuesday's deadline to bolster his squad.

The Rams have hit only four goals in their opening five Championship games and Clement is ready to add to his attacking options.

Clement feels Derby need a target man to help solve their goalscoring problems and believes Nuhiu would provide a good foil to Darren Bent and Chris Martin.

Nuhiu joined Sheffield Wednesday in 2013 on a free transfer from Rapid Vienna and the former Austria Under-21 international has proved a real handful for opposition defences.

After scoring eight goals in his first season, Nuhiu finished last season as Wednesday's top scorer with 11 goals in all competitions.

Nuhiu is in the final year of his contract at Hillsborough and Derby are weighing up a move for the giant striker to strengthen their forward line.
