The alleged Tottenham Hotspur target has been speaking about his future.
The 25-year-old forward is said to be on Tottenham’s radar as they continue their search for a new forward, and the report claims Spurs first discussed the possibility of signing the Brazilian two weeks ago, talking to his agents about the prospect of bringing the player to England.
However, the report goes on to claim that despite these initial discussions there has not yet been a bid from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and although pure speculation on our part that may well be because Pato is very much seen as a back-up option at this stage.
Esporte.uol.com says they asked Pato about the Tottenham rumours directly after his participation in Sao Paulo’s weekend clash with Ponte Preta, with the player allegedly preferring to say he did not know, lowering his head and leaving the field.
However he did comment on his future without dealing with specific clubs, saying, "I have today, tomorrow; we'll see what happens."
Pato has scored 13 goals in 32 matches for Sao Paulo so far this season and his record of 63 goals in 150 matches for AC Milan shows what a talent he is.
He would still be a risk for Tottenham given his lack of experience in England but for a cut-price fee he may be a risk worth taking, especially if Spurs do not sign West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino in the coming days.
