Rio Ferdinand uses West Ham and Crystal Palace wins to make a point

West Ham United defeated Liverpool 3-0, while Crystal Palace won 2-1 against Chelsea in the Premier League today.

Former Manchester United and Leeds United defender Rio Ferdinand has claimed on social networking site Twitter that the Premier League is the most entertaining league in the world.

Ferdinand made his comment following West Ham United and Crystal Palace’s wins in the Premier League today.

While the Hammers defeated Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield, Palace staged a remarkable upset against defending English champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, winning the game 2-1.

Former West Ham and Queens Park Rangers centre-back Ferdinand has used the aforementioned two results to claim that the Premier League is the most entertaining league on the planet.

The Premier League is the most popular domestic league in the world and is certainly very entertaining.

However, many will argue that there are more entertaining domestic leagues in Europe, such as La Liga, the Bundesliga and Serie A.

Results similar to West Ham and Palace’s victories over Liverpool and Chelsea respectively are found elsewhere in Europe too.

For example, last weekend Real Madrid were held to a goalless draw by Sporting Gijon away from home in La Liga.

Also last weekend, Italian champions Juventus, who reached the final of the Champions League during the 2014-15 campaign, went down 1-0 to Udinese in Turin.
