Former Leeds United and West Ham United defender Rio Ferdinand has predicted on social networking site Twitter that Arsenal will win against Newcastle United away from home in the Premier League today.
The Gunners will take on the Magpies at St. James’ Park this afternoon, and former Manchester United and Queens Park Rangers centre-back Ferdinand believes that it will be an easy victory for the North London outfit.
The former England international has also made it clear to the Newcastle fans that his prediction of today’s result is nothing personal.
Arsenal win at Newcastle???? Yes! By 2 goals minimum. To all the geordies It's not personal at all!— Rio Ferdinand (@rioferdy5) August 29, 2015
Arsenal will head into Saturday’s match as favourites, despite being the visiting team.
The North London outfit have not been made a great start to the season, but they will be encouraged with four points from their last two league matches.
The Gunners played out a goalless draw with Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Monday.
Meanwhile, Newcastle will head into the home match on the back of a 4-1 hammering of Northampton Town at St. James' Park in the second round of League Cup.
Last weekend, Steve McClaren’s side held Manchester United to a goalless draw away from home at Old Trafford.
Newcastle will fancy their chances of winning against Arsenal, but they may have to settle for a draw in the end.
