The Serie A side are believed to be making their last push to sign the Togo striker this week.
The Rome club have previously shown interest in the Togo striker but it is now becoming clear that they will be making a move for the player.
The report claims Claudio Lotito, Lazio president, will lead the pursuit of the player as they look to tie it up as soon as possible.
Of course this would be a blow to West Ham United. It was reported yesterday by the Mirror that The Hammers move for the striker was back on, with a meeting between the player and West Ham gaffer Slaven Bilic scheduled for this weekend.
If he were to move to Italy it would also go against his apparent reasoning for rejecting Aston Villa earlier in the summer. He is believed to want a London stay, so a commute to Rome would seem out of the question.
Hopefully, for Tottenham’s sake, the arrival of Lazio on the scene might speed up his departure from the club so they can free up some wages for potential newbies of their own in the last few days of the transfer window.
