The Slovenian youngster is on his way to Como.
However, the attacking midfielder was not a player in luck at Elland Road.
The attacker arrived with big hopes as one of Milan’s top young talents and a Slovenian under-21 international.
He played just two games for Leeds however before injuring his knee. After undergoing knee surgery in November he was expected to return before the end of the season but he never did and his Leeds career will go down as that of a crocked flop.
Which is a shame, because he is a very talented player who could have offered something to the Leeds cause. Unfortunately, much like Granddi Ngoyi, injury robbed him of his chance at Elland Road.
In fact he is likely to be remembered more for starting a relationship with the owner of Leeds United Massimo Cellino’s daughter.
Now he is set to follow Ngoyi in joining a second tier side in his homeland. Ngoyi recently joined French Ligue 2 side Dijon, Benedicic is set to join Serie B side Calcio Como.
The recently promoted side were said to be on the verge of signing him and Australian youngster Joshua Brillante by La Gazzetta dello Sport yesterday. Como have since confirmed the arrival of Brillante and Benedicic is seemingly set to follow.
Leeds fans will certainly not begrudge this unlucky star any success in Italian football.
