A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United will offer Real Madrid £65million plus goalkeeper David de Gea in a last ditch attempt to sign Gareth Bale this summer.

The Wales international would be a superb addition to United’s squad but any move will take a substantial bid…and even then Bale is unlikely to head back to England so soon after arriving in the Spanish capital.

But the latest report claims United will use Real’s interest in De Gea in a final attempt to get Bale before the transfer window slams shut.

Bale allegedly remains United manager Louis van Gaal’s number one target and with De Gea having less than a year left on his current contract he may be used as bait.

In other news, the BBC reports that West Bromwich Albion have agreed a fee for United centre-back Jonny Evans, with the player set to have a medical this weekend.

The fee is said to be £6million plus £2million in add-ons and Evans will reportedly travel to The Hawthorns for his medical today (Saturday) before completing a move before the end of the month.
