Liverpool talent Lazar Markovic clears up Facebook status via Twitter amid exit chatter

The Serbian has made it clear he has not confirmed any exit away from the club.

Yesterday it became clear that Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic was all set to be loaned out by the club.

The Serbian, who arrived from Benfica last summer for a fee reported by the BBC to be in the region of £20 million, has struggled for consistency at Anfield and is now set to get a chance to play on a regular basis.

TalkSPORT reported yesterday that both Turkish giants Fenerbahce and newly promoted Premier League outfit Watford were keen on the player.

It even looked as though the Serbian himself had confirmed his exit. A Facebook page attributed to the youngster with the profile name ‘Lazar Markovic Markec’ stated yesterday morning:

“Although do not go a definitive, it is true! I will be borrowed a year to the Fenerbahçe. Thank you all for the support!”

However the player himself has moved to make it clear that this is not his account. He took to Twitter to make that clear, first stating he did not have a Facebook account before verifying he did, but this was not the one in question.

Despite his denials on Twitter however it is still widely believed that Markovic will be leaving the club on loan in the coming days.

Liverpool fans will hope he can get some regular first-team football and return to the club ready to thrive in the Premier League.
