Liam Henderson says Celtic teammate Scott Brown has been brilliant for him

The Celtic youngster has praised one of the club's senior stars.

Young Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson has been speaking to the Daily Record about Bhoys skipper Scott Brown.

Henderson has played 23 matches for Celtic’s senior side to date but he is currently on loan at Hibernian having previously enjoyed a temporary stint at Norwegian club Rosenborg.

Big things are expected of Henderson in time and this loan spell should be another considerable step in the right direction…and if he ultimately follows in the footsteps of Brown then no one will be complaining.

The Celtic captain played for Hibs prior to his arrival at the Bhoys and Henderson revealed that Brown gave him a few words of advice before he headed out on loan once more.

“I spoke to Scott before I came here,” Henderson told the Daily Record. “He told me it was a great club and that their style of football would suit me.

“I was all for coming anyway but him telling me that made me want to sign even more. He has been brilliant for me so far.”

At just 19, Henderson has plenty of time to develop into the player many feel he will ultimately become and it will be interesting to see how the rest of his spell on loan at Hibs pans out.

He showed at Rosenborg that he has an eye for goal and he certainly has the confidence in his ability to go all the way, but he will know that next season should be the one where he is playing far more regularly under Ronny Deila.
