Leeds United player ratings v Derby County - Cook and Bamba impress

Leeds United beat Derby County 2-1 this afternoon; here is how their players rated.

Marco Silvestri 7 - produced a great save in the second half to deny Johnny Russell. Distribution remains inconsistent, but the Italian was solid enough today.

Gaetano Berardi 7 - solid defensively throughout, and whilst he gave away a needless free kick with a rash challenge in the first half, the Swiss full back was largely reliable and dependable.

Sol Bamba- a colossus in defence. Led the Leeds backline by example, and his experience and leadership were vital as Leeds withstood Derby pressure in the second half.

Liam Cooper 7 - got beaten for Derby's equalising goal but was solid for the majority of the game, and comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Charlie Taylor 9 - another impressive display from Taylor, who is growing and developing week-by-week. The left back has been one of Leeds' best players so far this season, and he showed that once again today by shackling Thomas Ince.

Lewis Cook- ran the show in the first half with energy and accurate passing, and even when Derby rallied in the second half, the teenager didn't shy away.

Tom Adeyemi 8 - showed his athletic qualities in midfield, and notched his first goal for Leeds with a superb header. Adeyemi is showing why Rosler was so desperate to reunite with him this summer.

Alex Mowatt 6 - a disappointing showing from Mowatt, who looked off the pace and struggled to get into the game whether he played in central midfield or on the left.

Stuart Dallas 7 - sent in a superb cross for Adeyemi's opener. Tired a little in the second half but he pressed the Derby defence high up the pitch in another good performance.

Sam Byram 6 - failed to really contribute anything for Leeds. A case may be made for him moving back to right back but Berardi's displays make that difficult.

Chris Wood 8 - drifted out of the game for a large spell and looks clumsy with the ball at his feet at times, but his stunning winner and early impact on the game made him essential to Leeds' victory.

Mirco Antenucci 7 - whipped in a superb cross only for Wood to head over. Looked bright in his cameo appearance.

Luke Murphy 7 - helped steady the game for Leeds when Derby were on top. Played a vital role in Leeds' victory in the end.
