Fernando Forestieri seemed set for a move to Leeds United, but the striker has now joined Sheffield Wednesday from Watford.

Fernando Forestieri was spotted at Sheffield Wednesday’s home ground Hillsborough this afternoon.

The 25-year-old was at the Championship game between Wednesday and Middlesbrough at Hillsborough for the 3pm kickoff.

According to The Star, the Italian was a guest of Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri, who gave the striker a tour of the stadium.

Forestieri was close to a move to Wednesday’s Championship rivals Leeds United, but that deal is now dead.

On Friday, Leeds chairman Cellino revealed on the club's official website that the Whites will not be pursuing a deal to recruit the former Genoa striker from Watford before the end of the summer transfer window next month.

The West Yorkshire outfit were interested in recruiting Forestieri, but the Italian entrepreneur claimed that the 25-year-old did not have the right mentality to play for the West Yorkshire outfit (click here to read more).

Forestieri is on his way from Watford to Wednesday, who will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.

Just before the game kicked off, Wednesday announced on their official Twitter page that they have signed Forestieri from the Premier League outfit on a four-year deal.
