Former Tottenham Hotspur winger Matthew Etherington has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to West Ham United’s victory over Liverpool away from home in the Premier League today.
Manuel Lanzini put Slaven Bilic’s side in the lead as early as the third minute, and Mark Noble doubled their advantage just before the half-hour mark.
Diafra Sakho made it 3-0 to West Ham in the final minutes of the Premier League encounter.
Liverpool and West Ham ended the game with 10 men each, as Philippe Coutinho was sent off for the Reds and the visitors had Noble dismissed.
Former Tottenham and West Ham winger Etherington was following the game, and he was impressed with the performance of Bilic’s team.
What a result for the mighty, mighty hammers! Can we play away from home from now on please? Never a sending off on Nobes either! #COYI父— Matthew Etherington (@mattyethers) August 29, 2015
“West Ham were coming off two defeats where they'd conceded six goals. Liverpool played exceptionally well against Arsenal on Monday and they had four of their new signings in the team, and they ended up getting an absolute doing.”
Over the course of the 90 minutes, West Ham had just 37% of the possession, took 12 shots of which five were on target, and earned seven corners.
Hosts Liverpool had 63% of the possession, took 13 shots of which only one was on target, and earned five corners.
