Here is how Chelsea and Crystal Palace will line up for this afternoon’s match:
Chelsea welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge with Jose Mourinho’s side knowing a victory this afternoon will secure the Premier League title with three games remaining.
The Blues are currently 13 points clear of Arsenal, the only side who can mathematically still catch them, but in all honesty it would take a capitulation of almighty proportions to see Chelsea throw this one away.
Palace are 12th in the table, safe from relegation and enjoying life under manager Alan Pardew, so what chance a shock this afternoon?
Well, Palace have only managed to defeat Chelsea once in 11 previous Premier League meetings, although that did come as recently as last season.
But with Chelsea losing only three times all season, few would bet against them maintaining their outstanding record and securing the title in the process.
Much has been said about Chelsea’s style of play this season, but the simple fact is they have been the best club over the entire campaign and Mourinho looks like completing the goal he would have set himself at the start of the season.
