Celtic defeat St. Johnstone 3-1 at Celtic Park this afternoon.
Celtic bounced back from their Champions League nightmare against Malmo to claim a 3-1 victory over St. Johnstone at Celtic Park this afternoon.
The catastrophic Malmo defeat dumped the Bhoys out of the Champions League, but manager Ronny Deila had to put that to the back of his mind as they took on St. Johnstone.
Early on, it looked like being another disaster for Deila, as defender Dedryck Boyata scored an own goal to give St. Johnstone a shock lead.
Fortunately, Celtic recovered from that disappointment, with striker Leigh Griffiths hauling his side level just seven minutes later.
Celtic then seized control of the game, and Australian midfielder Tom Rogic scored on the stroke of half time to put the Bhoys in front.
At half time, Celtic supporters were given their first glimpse of Tyler Blackett, as the Manchester United defender was paraded having signed a season-long loan deal - and he saw Celtic round off their win with another goal.
Charlie Mulgrew then came on for Scott Brown, and scored just eight minutes after his introduction to put the gloss on the victory.
The result leaves Celtic top of the Scottish Premiership table, and gave Ronny Deila a much-needed victory after a tough week.
