Gaetano Berardi has been on the books of Leeds United since last summer.
“When I started pre-season he told me that I had to improve everything, every day,” the Switzerland international told BBC Radio Leeds.
“My body is better and I feel fitter. I need more power and I need more conditioning. If I can do this, I can play without problems.”
Berardi has also highlighted the areas where he has improved since his move to Leeds last summer.
“Running, mentality and physicality,” said the 27-year-old.
The Switzerland international is a versatile player who can play either as a right-back or as a left-back.
The 27-year-old moved to Leeds from Italian outfit Sampdoria in the summer of 2014 and has proved to be a good signing for the West Yorkshire outfit.
During the 2014-15 campaign, Berardi created 10 chances in 22 Championship appearances.
The former Brescia star had a pass accuracy of 76% and a shot accuracy of 43%, and won 30 headers, five dribbles and 47 tackles.
In four Championship appearances so far this season, Berardi has created two chances, has a pass accuracy of 76%, and has won four headers and eight tackles.
