Aston Villa drew 2-2 with Sunderland earlier today.
Aston Villa played out a 2-2 draw against Sunderland this afternoon, and will be disappointed to have not claimed all three points.
Yann M'Vila gave Sunderland the lead in just the eighth minute of the game, before Scott Sinclair levelled for Villa from the penalty spot.
Sinclair then gave Villa the lead before half time, but Tim Sherwood's men couldn't grab the win as Jeremain Lens grabbed an equaliser after half time.
The result leaves Villa on four points after four games, assuming a mid-table position after today's disappointing draw - but one player stood out from the crowd.
Midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye, signed from Lille earlier this summer, produced an impressive display in midfield, earning plaudits from Villa fans as a result.
Villa supporters took to Twitter after the game to praise Gueye, with some even suggesting that he could be better than the player he replaced, Fabian Delph.
That's high praise for the Senegal international, but Villa fans were virtually unanimous in the opinion that Gueye was the star man against Sunderland.
Here are some of the reactions from Villa fans on Twitter after Gueye's display against Sunderland earlier this afternoon...
Gueye has been our best player so far. Quality player #avfc— Jordan MacGeever (@jords_mac) August 29, 2015
Gana is smooth and has some sick pace. Excited about his future. #avfc— alphaseeker (@alphaseeker3983) August 29, 2015
Early days but think Gana is going to be a far better player than Delph.— Robert Ashley (@thevillan74) August 29, 2015
