West Ham United media round-up: Updates on three potential signings

A selection of the latest news concerning West Ham United.

Bilic to meet with Emmanuel Adebayor

According to the Mirror, West Ham are set to hold talks with Emmanuel Adebayor of Tottenham this weekend. Slaven Bilic is still looking to bring a new striker in, and the Spurs forward, 31, has been transfer listed by the Lilywhites.

He has already turned down a move to Aston Villa, but with just days left of the window, Hammers’ chiefs believe he will be tempted to make the switch from the North of London to the East.

Adem Ljajic deal agreed, but no move on the cards

As reported by Gianluca di Marzio, West Ham had agreed a deal to sign Adem Ljajic from Roma on a season-long loan deal. A £2 million loan fee, with the option to purchase him outright for a further £6 million, had been accepted by the Serie A side, but the Serbian playmaker rejected the offer due to an unwillingness to move to the Boleyn Ground.

Alessandro Matri deal close to completion

Also according to Gianluca di Marzio, the Hammers are close to finalising a deal to sign Alessandro Matri from AC Milan. The 31-year-old striker has reportedly accepted personal terms with the club, and is set to arrive in England today to sign his contract.

Matri has been cast out of the Rossoneri first-team by new head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who has brought in the likes of Carlos Bacca, Mario Balotelli and Luiz Adriano this summer, and he has been cleared to leave the San Siro on a loan deal.
