Report: West Brom’s Victor Anichebe in talks with Derby County

Derby County Huddle

West Bromwich Albion forward Victor Anichebe is reportedly on the radar of Championship outfit Derby County.

Derby County are interested in signing Victor Anichebe from West Bromwich Albion before the end of the summer transfer window next month, according to The Sun.

The British tabloid has reported that the 27-year-old forward is in talks with Championship outfit Derby over a £3 million move.

The former Everton star has been on the books of West Brom since 2013, but he has fallen down the pecking order this season.

Good move for Derby County?

According to The Sun, Derby head coach Paul Clement wants more power in his attack, and from that perspective Anichebe would be a good signing.

The Nigeria international is strong and powerful, and he will bring a new dimension to the Rams’ attack.

However, Anichebe is not a very prolific striker, and Derby fans should not have too much expectations of him.

During the 2013-14 season, the former Everton man could score just three goals and created only 24 chances in 24 Premier League appearances for West Brom.

In the 2014-15 campaign, Anichebe found the target three times and crafted 18 chances in 21 league matches for the Baggies.
