According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Watford are considering making a move to sign Fabio Borini from Liverpool, having seen the Italian striker fall out of favour at Anfield.
Borini, 24, has been linked with a move away from Merseyside for much of the summer due to Brendan Rodgers’ heavy recruitment drive, and the report states that Internazionale of Italy were looking to move for him.
However, with just days left of the transfer window, the Nerazzurri have yet to make a move to sign him, and Watford have started showing an interest in the forward.
The Hornets believe that he is capable of playing the lone striker role that Quique Sanchez Flores is utilising in his 4-2-3-1 system, whilst Borini has also shown himself as an adept wide man and number 10 as well.
Whilst the Hertfordshire club have shown a late interest in the forward, they do potentially face Premier League opposition in the race to sign him, with TMW reporting earlier this week that Tottenham were looking at Borini.
Spurs were considering the Italian international as an alternative to Saido Berahino, and with West Brom confirming on their official website that Berahino will not leave this summer, Mauricio Pochettino may make a formal approach for Borini in the coming days.
