The midfielder could be the second former Barcelona youth player to turn up at Villa Park following the signing of Adama Traore.
Tim Sherwood’s side have been busy this summer, bringing in a whole host of fresh faces as the former Spurs boss looks to stamp his mark on the squad he inherited from Paul Lambert in January.
Eight players have been brought to Villa Park this summer, and it had been anticipated that there wouldn’t be many more arriving after such a hectic transfer window.
However, that doesn’t appear to be the case, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that they are keen to secure a deal for Brugge midfielder Vazquez, with Sporting Director Hendrik Almstadt reportedly having been to watch him in their recent Champions League clash with Manchester United.
What Vazquez would cost is yet to be revealed, although it is unlikely to be a low fee considering how well thought of the player is in Belgium, having been awarded the Professional Footballer of the Year award last season for his performances.
If they manage to complete a deal, though, then Vazquez would become the second former Barcelona man to join the Villans this summer, after they also completed a deal for Adama Traore earlier in the window.
