Aston Villa have agreed a fee for West Brom defender Joleon Lescott, according to ESPN.

The 33-year old is no longer part of Tony Pulis's plans but the Baggies will not sanction his exit until they secure a replacement, with Jonny Evans and Federico Fazio among those linked.

Meanwhile, summer signing Adama Traore has revealed his desire to return to Barcelona in the future, in an interview with Catalan media outlet CCMA.

The 19-year old intimated that his switch to the Premier League was to grow and develop with the intention of returning to the Spanish giants eventually.

He cited the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar as making it difficult for young attackers to break through at Barca and facilitating the need for La Masia graduates to go elsewhere in search of experience.

The nippy winger also claimed to have turned down Bayern Munich before opting for Aston Villa this summer, as reported by

Elsewhere, Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Villa-linked Roma forward Adem Ljajic has turned down a move to West Ham after the clubs agreed a loan-to-buy deal.

The Hammers had agreed to pay a £2 million loan fee with a £5.8m option to buy but the player was reportedly unconvinced by the destination - potentially leaving the door open for Villa.
