The Ivorian plans on being at Elland Road long into the future.
Leeds United captain Sol Bamba is fast becoming a fan favourite at Elland Road and he has now made it clear that he is at the club for the long haul, in an interview with Sky Sports.
The Ivorian defender arrived at the club, initially on loan, earlier this year from Italian side Palermo. After impressing in the second half of last season he made his move permanent after protracted negotiations finally saw him become a full time Leeds player.
His honesty and attitude have been applauded since and he was rewarded with the captaincy this summer and admits he wants to stay at the club for a long time.
"I've signed a three-year contract and I want to see that out.
"If I manage to do that and they want me to stay that would be great because I'm happy here and my family are settled. I see myself here for a long time."
Leeds fans will certainly be happy to hear that news. Bamba – who has previously played for Leicester City and Trabzonspor – has become a beacon for the new found stability at the club and his performances at the heart of defence will be pivotal to any potential promotion push this season.
First they need a win, so Bamba and co will need to be on top form at Derby County tomorrow lunchtime.
