Italian football expert Matteo Bonetti told talkSPORT that he feels it would be a brilliant move if Erik Lamela completes a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.
The Daily Mirror recently reported that Serie A side Inter Milan are supposedly looking to do a deal for the Argentine, who has really struggled to produce his best form at White Hart Lane.
Bonetti feels that a switch back to Serie A would be in the interests of the player, suggesting that he would be appreciated much more by supporters because of the impact he had during his time at Roma.
“In Serie A, people who watched him at Roma know what he can produce, he’s got an excellent left foot and it’s just another one of those deals that for whatever reason, just didn’t work,” he told talkSPORT.
“I think he can turn around his career and it will be a brilliant move because Inter have this Argentine contingent now.”
What Lamela needs to do
If Lamela wants to leave, he has to try and get any deal over the line before the deadline this Tuesday.
That means going to Spurs and explaining that he wants to leave, encouraging them to take any deal which is on the table.
If he says put, he’s got to try and find a way of being more effective in a Tottenham shirt.
There’s no doubt that he’s got talent, he just hasn’t shown it consistently enough to have a serious impact on big games for the football club.
