The 19-year-old winger left Spanish giants Barcelona for Premier League outfit Villa earlier this month on a five-year contract.
Traore made four senior appearances for Barca, but the majority of his football was with the Spanish club’s B team, scoring eight times in 63 Segunda Division games.
Balague has admitted that he was not sure whether the teenager would be a good addition to the Villa squad, but he is happy to see the youngster make a positive start to his Premier League career.
"I have my doubts, but he has started brilliantly," wrote Balague. "I hope it is not only as a consequence of his arrival.
"He has struggled to be consistent, but is only young. If he feels important, he will be important. He needs that kind of TLC. The potential is certainly there."
Traore made his debut for Villa against Crystal Palace away from home at Selhurst Park in the Premier League last weekend.
Although Traore is talented, Villa fans will have to be patient with him, as he will need time to adapt to the Premier League.
Moreover, the Spaniard is only 19 years of age, which means that he is still developing and growing as a footballer.
