Well Played @Everton FC R Matinez, B Kenwright for making a stance and trying to prove to the fans/public that you can progress 1/2— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) August 28, 2015
By not selling your top stars! Hopefully J Stones can stay a while longer, get better and be worth even more money. 2/2— Don Hutchison (@donhutch4) August 28, 2015
Stones has been linked with a big money move to Stamford Bridge for much of the summer, and with just days to go in the transfer window, the young defender handed in a transfer request to the Toffees management.
It was swiftly rejected by Roberto Martinez and Bill Kenwright, and they outlined their stance to not sell the 21-year-old whatever the price.
Hutchison believes the Merseyside club made the right decision in keeping ahold of Stones, even if Everton would have made a huge profit on his sale this summer.
He is one of the most talented young players in the Premier League, and in English football, and looks to have all the talents to potentially become a world class defender in the future.
He could fulfil this potential with Everton, and in just a few years they will be in ownership of a player truly at the top of his game.
