Former Blackpool and Swansea City midfielder Andrea Orlandi is training at Bolton Wanderers ahead of a possible move to the Macron Stadium, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Orlandi, who finished as Blackpool's second highest goalscorer in the Championship last season, is a free agent after cancelling his contract at Bloomfield Road by mutual consent earlier this month.
Blackpool had hoped to keep Orlandi at the club, but Orlandi opted to trigger an appearance clause allowing him to leave after completing 23 games.
A number of clubs in England and Spain have expressed an interest in Orlandi, but Bolton are at the front of the queue for the 31-year-old.
Orlandi has linked up with Bolton for training so that Neil Lennon and his coaching staff can cast an eye over him at close quarters.
Lennon is desperate to add to his squad, with the former Celtic boss having one of the smallest budgets in the Championship and if Orlandi impresses in training, he could be offered a deal with the Trotters.
