Watford supporters endured a juxtaposition of emotion on Tuesday night and the following Wednesday morning.
Indeed, the disappointment of their Capital One Cup exit at the hands of Championship side Preston North End was counteracted by delight at seeing former boss Slavisa Jokanovic reach the Champions League stages.
That delight, though, often came together with Watford's cup disappointment and blended together well to form a kind of envy. It's too early to over-criticise boss Quique Sanchez Flores, of course, but there is certainly a fondness among the Hornets faithful for former manager Jokanovic.
The Serb is now in charge of Maccabi Tel Aviv and, crucially, is a Champions League manager. Jokanovic's side knocked FC Basel out at the play-off stage - no mean feat - and the messages of support and congratulations flooded in from Watford fans on Twitter.
Jokanovic's success, of course, may well make life a little more difficult for Flores at Vicarage Road, as his results with the club will no doubt be compared to that of his predecessor. And, with the Hornets struggling for goals and now out of the cup, supporters' bond with their former coach is still strong:
