The BBC pundit is 'gutted' for the West Brom forward now that a move to Tottenham looks off the cards - but also aimed a light-hearted dig at the club.
Indeed, West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace criticised Tottenham's bids for the young forward in a statement on Thursday afternoon/evening and it appears Berahino will remain at the Hawthorns beyond Deadline Day.
And BBC pundit Sinclair says he is 'gutted' for the Spurs target, who he feels has done enough to earn a move away from the Midlands outfit.
He praised Berahino's attitude last season - something he clearly feels the Baggies could have rewarded him for by allowing him to leave - but has now advised him to knuckle down once more.
Gutted for @SBerahino as I thought he got with things last season even tho he may have wanted a move? Nut down, go again young man— Trevor Sinclair (@trevor8sinclair) August 27, 2015
West Brom state that they have rejected multiple offers from Tottenham Hotspur for Berahino and there will be several questions relating to the 22-year-old's future should he stay at the Hawthorns.
Will Berahino be able to focus having been forced to stay at the club? And will he simply end up leaving in January if his relationship with the Baggies does not improve?
Either way, Sinclair did add that another season in the Midlands could be good for the youngster, aiming a light-hearted dig at Spurs:
