Aston Villa have been linked with making a move to sign Adem Ljajic.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Aston Villa have dropped their interest in Adem Ljajic, with just days to go before the close of the transfer window.

Sky Sports claimed earlier this week that Tim Sherwood’s side had opened talks with Roma over the signing of the playmaker, with the Serie A side reportedly keen on selling him.

Able to play on the left wing or as a number 10, the 23-year-old could not make it off the bench for Roma’s first game of the season last week, and despite his impressive talents, the Giallorossi are keen on selling him.

Villa had targeted him following his availability on the transfer market, but after holding talks with both him and Roma over a couple of days, the Birmingham-based club are no longer interested in signing him.

The report does not state a reason for the unwillingness to see through a deal, as they are still looking to complete more transfers before the close of the window at the end of this month.

The report claims that Joleon Lescott of West Brom is still on Sherwood’s radar, but the signing of Ljajic has now been cancelled by the Villains despite a clear interest from the Premier League side.
