Parlour suggests a key benefit if Tottenham can sign attacking player

Former Gunner Ray Parlour feels Tottenham Hotspur can benefit if they sign some attacking support for Harry Kane.

Former Arsenal favourite Ray Parlour stressed one of the main benefits on talkSPORT for Mauricio Pochettino, if he can sign another striker for Tottenham.

Tottenham are in need of an additional player to come into the side, creating some support for Harry Kane and giving the team a Plan B.

Spurs officials will be working furiously behind the scenes to make sure that a deal goes through before the deadline this Tuesday and Parlour has explained a benefit, besides from the obvious ones connected to Kane.

“They do need players because Pochettino will look at it and say are we relying too much on Harry Kane? Will he have the season he had last year? If they can get help there and take the pressure off of Harry Kane they they’re also getting goals in other areas,” he told talkSPORT.

An unpredictable Spurs

If Tottenham can get another striker in who is successful and hits the back of the net with some frequency, it will help to make the team more unpredictable.

If other players can weigh in with goals then it takes even more pressure away from Harry Kane and exasperates the benefits of Tottenham being an unpredictable side.

If opposition sides only have to focus on keeping Kane and someone like Christian Eriksen quiet, it frees them to focus on other ways they can hurt the White Hart Lane club.

If that number increases to four or five names the opposition have to keep quiet, it gives Tottenham a greater chance of being successful.
