Arsenal and Barnsley fans react on Twitter to Dan Crowley's performance

Dan Crowley playing for England

Dan Crowley played a key role in Barnsley's win over Everton on Wednesday.

Barnsley's Capital One Cup hopes are over, but they went down fighting against Premier League outfit Everton on Wednesday night.

The Tykes took a stunning 2-0 lead at Oakwell thanks to goals from Sam Winnall and Marley Watkins, but Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith hit back to draw Everton level after the break.

Just seconds after Naismith's equaliser, Barnsley went straight down the other end to go back in front, as Arsenal loanee Dan Crowley struck from just inside the box.

Everton toiled away and did finally get an equaliser, with Romelu Lukaku making it 3-3 - taking the game to extra time in the process.

Eventually, Lee Johnson's Barnsley began to tire, and Everton picked them off to win 5-3 in the end, as an own goal from Marc Roberts and a second goal from Lukaku sealed the win for Roberto Martinez.

Barnsley impressed everybody with their display, and one player who particularly caught the eye was midfielder Crowley, who bagged Barnsley's third goal of the game.

The 17-year-old is on loan from Arsenal, and with his huge reputation at the Emirates Stadium, Gunners fans will certainly be encouraged by his display against Everton.

Arsenal and Barnsley fans took to Twitter after the game to praise Crowley's display, with some even calling him a 'genius' for his performance, whilst others noted his technique and vision in possession.

Here are some of the reactions from Arsenal and Barnsley supporters after Crowley's impressive performance against Everton...
