Tottenham fans react on Twitter to reports they could sign Liverpool striker Fabio Borini

Tottenham fans are largely unimpressed by reports linking Liverpool's Fabio Borini.

Tottenham Hotspur have been surprisingly linked with a move for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini, by Italian website Tuttomercatoweb.

Yet the claims he is being lined up as a cheap alternative to West Brom striker Saido Berahino have not been well received by supporters.

Borini is out of favour at Liverpool, scoring only three goals for the club since signing from Swansea City in 2013.

He netted 10 in 40 games on loan at Sunderland, but the Italy under-21 international blew his chance last season to stake a claim with Daniel Sturridge out injured and Mario Balotelli flopping.

The forward made 18 appearances in 2014/15 but scored just one goal.

A return to Italy, where he once netted 10 goals in 26 games for Roma seems more likely, with Tottenham's reported interest seemingly out of nowhere.

Rival London club West Ham were linked by The Mirror with a move for Borini earlier this month, but much to the frustration of Liverpool fans, they have not been able to offload him.

We did manage to find one Spurs supporter who seemed positive about a potential deal, but the majority were not impressed by the links. Here is a look at the reaction...
