The Aston Villa player cannot wait to kick off against Birmingham City.
Villa were almost on the wrong end of a cup shock as Notts County went ahead three times against their top flight opponents, only for Tim Sherwood’s men to equalise time and time again.
That meant the game went into extra-time with the score at 3-3 and Sinclair completed his hat-trick in the 99th minute before Joe Bennett sealed a 5-3 victory with nine minutes of the additional period remaining.
Villa have made a number of changes to their squad this summer and it was always going to take them time to settle, but it was Sinclair he scored his second hat-trick in quick succession – having also done so during pre-season – and he will be pushing for more chances in the league after his later efforts.
Villa will now play fierce rivals Birmingham in the next round and that is an encounter Sinclair is looking forward to.
“Villa Park will be jam-packed,” Sinclair told AVTV. “It will be an unbelievable atmosphere.
“Derby games are the best things in football – where the fans are so passionate about winning. We will rise to the challenge. We will give it everything.”
