Everton fans are probably as sick of the sight of Chelsea in their newsfeeds as, well, everyone else - just with some added spice.
Indeed, all summer long Chelsea have been reported to be pursuing Everton defender John Stones. According to ESPN among many, many others, the 21-year-old has handed in a transfer request at Goodison Park and the Blues remain very confident of prising him from Merseyside.
And many have criticised the handling of the situation by the Toffees owners. Although they could be seen as victims of external interest and a player whose head has been turned, there are some suggestions Bill Kenwright and co have simply made sure they could invite the highest bid possible before selling up.
Former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers forward Rodney Marsh has latched onto those suggestions, joking that he expects another banner from Everton fans during their Premier League clash this weekend.

Some members of the Toffees faithful recently flew a plane over the stadium during Everton's win over Southampton, carrying a banner suggesting it was time for Kenwright and co to leave the club.
