According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are reconsidering their stance on signing Saido Berahino from West Brom, due to the asking price placed on his head.
The Baggies have rejected two offers from Spurs for the young striker, with the report claiming that their £22 million approach on Tuesday was still not enough to prise Berahino away from the Hawthorns.
He has handed in a transfer request, and it is clear that the 22-year-old wants to leave, but West Brom have reiterated their unwillingness to sell the forward, unless they get closer to £25 million for him, according to the report.
However, this raise in his asking price has caused Spurs to consider pulling out of a move, even though they were expected to return with a third, increased offer in the coming days.
It is reported that the North London club do not believe Berahino is worth the value now placed on his head, and the reservations about his transfer have caused the Lilywhites management to start assessing other targets with under a week left of the transfer window.
