AS Monaco are keen on bringing the midfielder back to French football.
Newcastle United have rejected an approach from French outfit AS Monaco for talented midfielder Olivier Kemen. According to L’Equipe the offer was in the region of €500,000 (£367,000).
The report claims that Newcastle are however willing to sell the talented Frenchman – for double the original bid. Newcastle want €1 million (£730,000) for the midfielder at which point he will be allowed to head out to Monaco this summer.
Kemen is a wanted commodity this summer.
It comes after he impressed as captain of the French under-19 side at the recent UEFA European Under-19 Championships in Greece, where Les Bleus made it to the semi-finals.
The Cameroon born midfielder is highly rated among the fans at St James' Park but is yet to get a chance in the first-team since his move from FC Metz in July 2013.
L’Equipe also reported earlier in the month that AC Milan, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool were keen on the player this summer.
Newcastle fans would no doubt be frustrated to see Kemen go at such a price and with no chance given to him to prove himself in the first-team.
