Report: Barcelona keen to sign reported Everton target Andriy Yarmolenko

The Dynamo Kiev man is wanted across Europe this summer.

Barcelona are believed to be in the hunt for Ukrainian winger Andriy Yarmolenko, leaving Everton with an uphill task to snap up the player this summer.

The Dynamo Kiev star, who has also been linked with Arsenal, Stoke City and Liverpool this summer, was reported by Sky Sports to be heading to the Premier League and joining Everton late last week.

They reported that a £15 million move had been agreed but then, a matter of days later, Sky Sports claimed Everton’s interest was dead in the water.

Now it would seem he has a bigger net hovering around him.

The report from Sport in Spain claims that Barcelona have identified Yarmolenko and Celta Vigio attacker Nolito as potential replacements for Pedro – who recently made the switch to Chelsea.

Of course if he did sign he would not be able to play for Barca until January, because of their current transfer embargo.

Everton need a new winger and one with the class of Yarmolenko would have been perfect. At the moment they have Kevin Mirallas, Gerard Deulofeu and Aiden McGeady for the wide places – but all three have recently had bad luck with injuries.

But it is becoming increasingly apparent that Yarmolenko will not be that man.
