Former Arsenal manager George Graham told talkSPORT about his differing view of two key areas of the current side.
Arsene Wenger’s team weren’t able to get the better of Liverpool in a 0-0 draw earlier this week, with Graham full of praise for the side’s midfield but critical of their defensive line.
“They had a very successful pre-season, but when it comes to the nitty-gritty they’ve not been up to the standard – Is the back four good enough, are they top? I don’t think so but the midfield are outstanding and they play lovely attacking, good football,” he told talkSPORT.
Time left in the transfer window
There is time left in the transfer window for Arsene Wenger to press on and make some additions, with good resources behind him to spend in terms of the finances.
However, Wenger is a very stubborn manager when it comes to transfers and someone who will never make changes for the sake of doing so.
He won’t bring a player in unless he’s convinced that the individual offers him something different and better to what he already has.
Arsenal seem to be still striving for their best level of performance, with some inconsistency already appearing in their Premier League results.
However, they are capable of playing well and ripping apart any team in the Premier League, which is why it will annoy so many Gunners everywhere that the boss hasn’t done more to back up what he already has.
