HITC Sport understands that Steve McClaren is ready to let French forward leave the club, with Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, West Ham and Derby among those interested.

Newcastle United are ready to let Yoan Gouffran leave the club, and a host of clubs are ready to battle for his signature, HITC Sport understands.

The 29-year-old has been a popular figure at St James' Park since joining from Bordeaux in January 2013 and he has scored 12 goals in 88 games for the Magpies.

His has shown his versatility playing up-front and in midfield, but now he looks to be on the fringes of the first-team under Steve McClaren.

He is yet to be involved this season - and now he is set to be allowed to leave, despite having some two-years left on his current deal.

Newcastle would ideally like to sell but will permit him to go out on loan, and he looks set to have a number of options.

His former club Bordeaux are one of a number of clubs in France showing an interest, but he could yet remain in England and even in the North East as Middlesbrough are understood to be very keen in adding him to their promotion push.

West Brom, West Ham, Hull City, Nottingham Forest and Derby County are also believed to be considering offers.
