Celtic supporters have vented their frustrations at the club going out of the Champions League.

Celtic have missed out on the group stage of the Champions League for a second time under Ronny Deila following a defeat at the hands of Swedish champions Malmo last night.

The damage was done in the first leg as the Bhoys squandered a healthy advantage in the first leg to conceded two away goals, which ultimately turned out to be more than the difference between the two teams.

Celtic will now play in the Europa League for the coming season and manager Ronny Deila will have to work doubly hard over the next few days in terms of the transfer market.

If he’s got his eyes on players who have been linked with other sides who are in the Champions League, it’s going to be automatically more difficult for the manager to now sign those players and to keep any stars, linked with moves away.

Deila will also face a challenge in training over the rest of the week to keep his players motivated and to prevent heads from dropping around the dressing room.

Certain players may be taking the defeat personally, feeling they are to blame for the club not being in the top European competition and having a chance to mix it with the best in the group stage of the tournament.

The manager needs to take those feelings away, finding something positive for the club to focus on which will help the club to quickly pull themselves out of any negative feelings or period they may be experiencing.

Deila can’t allow the effects of defeat last night to rub off on Celtic’s domestic form, with his approach to the Europa League this season difficult to predict at the moment.
