Andy Cole reacts on Twitter to Wolves rejecting Norwich bid for Afobe

Wolves Steve Bull Stand

The former Premier League goal machine is mightily impressed by the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward.

Former Manchester United striker Andrew Cole has heaped praise on Benik Afobe after Wolves reportedly rejected a £10 million offer from Norwich City for the young striker.

The 22-year-old former Arsenal star has been the subject of recent Norwich interest and the Premier League club have gone as far as making a third offer for the forward, according to BBC Sport.

That offer has been rejected, however, and Cole has lauded Wolves for given the young English striker a chance to play regular football.

Without encouraging him to leave, Cole did, though, suggest he will score goals in the Premier League.

It's a classic conundrum for both club and player. Wolves will have every right to reject every offer for Afobe. But should the value of the bids they receive continue to grow, the Championship club may well give them more and more thought.

For the 22-year-old, of course, it could be a choice between the Premier League now or the Premier League next season. Norwich City may well stay up but the odds suggest a relegation battle could be on the cards. Will he be tempted by the top flight or will he be more encouraged by the chance of trying to earn promotion with Wolves?
