The Italian has been linked with a move away from Leeds United.
According to a recent report from Tuttomercatoweb, Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci is a target for Italian sides Atalanta and Bologna, but Whites boss Uwe Rosler would be crazy to part with the centre-back at this stage of the transfer window.
Leeds have impressed with their summer spending to date, identifying areas of weakness and significantly strengthening them with the likes of Stuart Dallas, Chris Wood and the permanent signing of Sol Bamba.
But a lot of that good work would be undone if Leeds waved goodbye to Bellusci with little time to replace him.
The Italian may be hot-headed at times but he is a great defender and one Leeds will need this season, even with Bamba and Liam Cooper also in the squad.
The Championship is a challenge to the best of teams and Rosler will need all his players at various times throughout the campaign. Indeed if anything Leeds’ current squad is worryingly thin and selling Bellusci would only weaken them further.
Bellusci has made two appearances for Leeds so far this season, featuring against Burnley and Bristol City, and if he remains he will make plenty more.
Some may argue that Scott Wootton would act as sufficient back-up, but Bellusci is a class act and he should remain exactly where he is despite alleged interest from his homeland.
