During the Goals on Sunday show on Sky Sports on Sunday, the former Newcastle and West Ham star said that Tottenham need to sign another striker in order to take the pressure off of Kane.
"My biggest concern for Harry is that Tottenham have not brought another striker in to really share the load," said the former Forest, Newcastle and West Ham defender Pearce.
"What Tottenham needed to do was bring in a marquee centre-forward just to share the load, and take some of the limelight away from Harry and let him develop in his own good time," added the 53-year-old.
At the moment, Tottenham have just two recognised strikers on their books: Kane and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor’s days at White Hart Lane appear numbered, as he has not been given a squad number, as reported by Sky Sports.
This means that Spurs need to sign at least two strikers in order to launch a challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Kane was superb last season and despite not scoring yet this season, he remains a young and talented player who will come into form sooner or later.
If Tottenham do not get in a new striker before the end of the summer transfer window, then they will be facing a huge task to even end up in the top six.
England international Kane simply cannot carry the goalscoring responsibility on his own for the entire season.
