Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi reportedly wants to analyse a proposal from Tottenham.
According to a report from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi wants time to assess an offer from Tottenham.
Illarramendi, 25, joined Real Madrid in the same summer as Gareth Bale having impressed with Real Sociedad, but he hasn't quite been given as big of a role as Bale has.
The midfielder has found his path to the first team blocked by the likes of Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu, and it now seems that Illarramendi will now leave the club with new manager Rafael Benitez calling the shots.
Mundo Deportivo report that Illarramendi is posed to depart, but has a real decision to make as three clubs are in the running for his signature.
The report states that former club Real Sociedad are leading the way, but Illarramendi has asked for time to assess two other offers for his services - from Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are in the market for another midfielder this summer having sold the likes of Etienne Capoue, Paulinho and Benjamin Stambouli, and Illarramendi could be a realistic option for manager Mauricio Pochettino.
With a great range of passing and superb vision to pick out his team-mates, Illarramendi could add some quality to the Tottenham midfield - if they can persuade him to join them.
Given that other clubs are interested, Spurs may have to work hard to try and complete a deal, but with Illarramendi asking to delay a move to Sociedad in order to consider the offer from Tottenham, Pochettino's men certainly have hope of completing a deal for the Spanish midfield metronome.
